Saving WAV files for PABX systems

Users send audio file from phones and pcs in all different formats

Using Audacity  you can transcode to a basic WAV file for PABX  and TPG Bizphone


  1.     Download Audacity here
  2.     open the sound file in audcity
  3.     Trim out silence at the ends and adjust the volume  (Effect  >Amplify)
  4.     If stereo, click above Mute/Solo and choose Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono.
  5.     Set Project Rate (bottom left) to 8000 Hz.
  6.     Go to File > Export Audio…
  7.     Choose WAV
  8.     Choose WAV (Microsoft) header.
  9.     Choose “U-Law” Encoding (this sets 8-bit, and 8 kHz).
  10.     Edit the file name and be sure it ends in “.wav”.
  11.     Click Save.
  12.     Use this Website  https://g711.org/  to convert the file

   

Then load in PABX or TPG BizPhone
